NEWS SPLASH: EXPLOSION AT GOMBE STATE GOVERNOR'S LODGE

   The private residence of Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, Governor of Gombe state was rocked with an explosion at about 6.pm Nigerian time. No casualties were reportedly recorded as at the time of inquiry as security operatives have urged people to go about their regular duties as they are on the job.
   The explosion was said to have come from an Armoured Personnel Carrier stationed in front of the Governor's residence, but the necessary emergency units have reportedly been sited carrying out their duties. No group is yet to claim responsibility for this.
